1. Just a very quick checking in post today, since it won't be long before any semblance whatsoever of regular posting will disappear around here! I will be in Senegal in T-10 days, you guys. I'd love to say I'm excited but right now it's a little more like blind panic. For now though, I'm just back from a few days in sunny Barcelona... Unfortunately for the first time in years I didn't take my camera on holiday with me, which left me feeling a little bit like I'd lost a limb, but my Ryanair hand luggage literally would not fit another item. So today I bring you a collection of crappy iPhone photos, if only to prove to you that I have been doing something other than sitting around playing LA Noire in my pants with my unemployment. Sometimes.

2. In slightly more blog-relevant news (slightly), my grad ball is a week tomorrow and I am having something of an occasion wear nightmare. Where do you get non-hideous formalwear?! I had been planning on a Whistles number from this post, but then one of my best friends bought a super dramatic 70s vintage floor length dress complete with CAPE and I'm thinking it might be a bit... understated. No consideration for other people, eh? Please note that if you mention Coast, I will feel free to disregard the rest of your comment, THNX.

summer wardrobe: fantasy vs reality

Long time, no post guys, and I can't even claim to have been busy seeing as at the moment I pretty much plan my entire week around doing my laundry or hoovering my bedroom. My ability to stretch out menial tasks to fill the available time (even if that's ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD) is seriously without parallel, it's a talent. Anyway, I have pretty much unlimited time on my hands these days since I've now finished exams and there isn't much point in jobhunting as I won't be around for long... As one or two of you will know, I'm going to Senegal on 10th June to volunteer for two months with street children. I'm very much aware that this is more or less a lifetime in the world of blogging, so I'm going to try to post occasionally! Because obvz I'd be inconsolable if you were all to forget me, sob. But clearly it won't be regular and it definitely won't be the kind of post you're used to around here. Just warning you!

Anything I've bought over the past few weeks has been specifically for this trip, so summer shopping has been a bit of a letdown really. Every time I see something in the shops that I like I quickly realise that it's nooot exactly appropriate, and have to steer myself over to the floaty-maxi-dress-that-doesn't-display-cleavage section. Which is often smaller and/or more non-existent than I might have hoped. I am going on a (slightly) more traditional summer holiday next week, however! As I'm jetting off (errr, or as close as one can when flying hand luggage only on Ryanair and staying in a hostel...) to Barcelona for Primavera Sound festival. If only I had any money left post-Senegal purchases, this is what I would be wearing...

So, since I last posted I've had my last exam, and have officially finished university! Not quite as exciting as it might be though, since I'll be back at the same university to do a further diploma next year. But still! I got to do my first guilt-free shopping trip in a while yesterday now that I have endless amounts of free time, and was semi-weighing up the idea of buying myself a graduation present (y'know, quite apart from the fact that I won't actually know for sure that I'm graduating for over a month). In which case I would be heading straight for the Whistles Lorna or Victoria lace dresses, STAT. I think the sales assistants in Whistles are getting to know me because I've gone in and tried the Lorna dress on so many times now.



Unfortunately I quickly remembered, OH YEAH I haven't had a job for five months now and no amount of "deserving it" will make me able to pull £175 out of my arse. ANYWAY, so the outfit. I bought the shorts in preparation for my Madrid trip, which immediately proved to be a ridiculously amateurish decision. Clearly, Spanish girls do not wear short-shorts in March, what were you thinking Sarah?! Fortunately for me, however, Glaswegian girls definitely do wear short-shorts in May (and April, March, February, January...) so I think these are going to make their début this evening. Possibly a tiny bit optimistic given the weather forecast though, so let's see how that turns out.
